We bought several smoked tail light overlay kits and hated them, so we developed our own kit that includes the perfect film and everything you need for a proper install. These are NOT made from scrap material or window tint.
We went down a rabbit hole, tested several highly regarded professional products and found the best quality film with the perfect subtle smoke tint for a classy, upgraded OEM+ look that complements any color 2014-2021 Toyota Tundra.
Why we chose our film:
- perfect smoke tint (others are way too dark and cheap looking)
- neutral tint (others are brownish or greenish for a strange, cheap appearance)
- optical clarity (designed specifically for wrapping lights, others are cloudy and look faded)
- forgiving & easy to install (highly conformable w/ air release technology)
- highly durable yet easy to remove (tested for 4 years with no issues or degradation)
Each kit includes everything needed for proper installation:
1. 2 CNC die-cut vinyl tint overlays (left and right sides)
2. squeegee w/ felt blade
3. application fluid gel in spray bottle (fill with water and shake to use)
4. alcohol wipes
Installation Instructions:
Inspect and Clean
- check tail lights for any cracks or surface damage (replace or repair if needed)
- clean well with car wash soap without wax or ceramic additives (Dawn dish soap works well too)
- air dry tail light or dry with lint free cloth
- wipe tail light with included alcohol wipes to ensure any remaining contaminants are removed
Install
- the included spray bottle is not empty, it has application fluid concentrate in it
- just fill the spray bottle with clean water and shake to mix with application fluid
- spray tail light with application fluid
- peel off 1 overlay at a time and carefully position over white reverse light lens (make sure overlay is completely covering the clear white lens area and no edges are hanging off the tail light)
- once you are satisfied with the position, use the included squeegee to squeeze out all remaining application fluid and air bubbles (repeat for other side)
Dry and Cure
- once installed, allow overlays to dry and cure completely for 24-48 hours before washing vehicle
- applying some light heat will speed up the curing process (use a hair dryer on low, or park in the sun for a few hours)
